Things to do while avoiding The Pile.

The other day, I showed you The Pile.
Everything fun thing I own is in this pile, people. Scrapbooking stuff. Books. Whoopy cushions. Possibly a pet or two.

***Editor's note: No pets were physically harmed in the making of this blog post. They may, however, have been slightly shamed by their inability to thwart Teri's need for humourous photos.

So, in my attempt to avoid boredom-induced insanity, I have compiled this short list of things to do while avoiding The Pile.

1. Place pets into humourously-compromising positions. Photograph as needed. Then, realize that you must have packed the camera cord and you cannot do anything useful with these photos.

2. Curse your infernal packing.

***Editor's note: Suffice it to say that said photo involved a wiener dog in a recycling bin. Hilarity ensued.

3. Watch your favourite SNL skits on YouTube. Don't even care if they're crappy quality.

4. Rewatch everything you've saved on your PVR.

5. Remind Americans that a DVR is called a PVR in Canada.

6. Clean.

7. Add items to list just for comedic value, such as number 6 above.

8. Teach yourself to crochet flowers using this tutorial:

and butterflies using this tutorial and dishcloths using this pattern.

9. Adjust the patterns a little and plan to blog about them soon.

10. Drool over all of the projects you wish you were doing, like this one guest-posted by Lovey Crafty Home at Tatertots and Jello:

11. Ask blog readers for other suggestions of things to do for the next five days before we officially become homeowners.

And now, my bloggy friends, I am off to do number 6.

Ha! See? It really is funny!

  2. Gee, I really wanted to see those recycled Dachshund pics!! I hope you'll be posting them after the move. I bet time is just standing still. While we waited, I made lists of what I had to do after the move and other important topics like furniture placement. Never ended up following any of these ideas but it made me feel like I was accomplishing something. ;) I also read decorating magazines for inspiration. Didn't really do much with that information either. I also shopped for things like cushions and vases so I'd have more stuff to move. Yeah, maybe stick to making dishcloths! :) That is great that you are making little flowers. Can't wait to see them. I have about two of Susan's left. :( Good luck with the move. Can't wait to see the new place!! :)

  7. Hi Teri!! Glad to hear that the house is coming along! Great idea to plan a house warming as incentive. We never did that..... a bit sub social, we are. ;) Hope you are feeling better. No wonder you are sick with all of this going on. Can't wait to see photos on the blog. :) The little card on the LO is from October Afternoon. I have had it forever and just waiting for the opportunity to use it. I actually did have the photos already for this LO. It took me awhile to figure out that they would work with the card. I never have three of a photo. Don't want to jinx it but Lady had been about 2.5 weeks accident free. Dare I dream?? hee hee Take good care!! :)

  8. LOL!! Love your new comments "comment"! Phew!! Good thing I always leave you comments. ;) Okay, I want you to find that camera cord too because we are all missing your blog posts!! I'm so happy that you made a kit!! Can't wait to see it and it's creations. I too have the same problem with pulling too much for my kits. I pull more paper than is in the usual kits because I do like to layer. Then once the paper is gone I consider the kit done and put all the extra embellishments away. I would rather have more out than to forget about something wonderful that could have worked. I then put all the scrap papers in an old photo envelop for future card use. Not that I ever end up making cards. Susan and I are actually planning on having some card making days where we can use some of these scraps up. It would be nice to have a bunch of cards on hand and not have to be making any last minute cards. Have a great weekend! :)

If you type something below it will make the sun shine and the flowers bloom and all the world's children sing hand-in-hand. If you don't, someone, somewhere, will kick a puppy. You don't want to have that on your conscience, now do you?
