Things I've learned this summer, in no particular order:

  1. If you promise your sister the gift of a wedding album, you'll scrapbook day and night to make sure it's perfect in time to be hand-delivered. Even if you can't blog pictures because she's private like that. And you have nothing else to blog about. But, you'll be totally ok with that. :)
  2. She'll be ok with the album being three years late if you make it worth it. And it was so worth it. Seriously? If I had made this book when I promised it to her? It would have contained gems like these:
  1. There's nothing that can replace time with family.
  2. A flatulent dog is a poor bedfellow.
  3. Eating the tasty morsels your niece and nephew drop from their high chairs will make a dog flatulent.
  4. If anyone ever asks you if you want to go to a restaurant-slash-pub and the only way to get there is by boat? The answer is a resounding yes.
  5. Likewise with an offer to see Doc Walker or George Canyon at a music festival.
  6. You'll develop a serious case of blog-envy as you read other people's blogs and dream about all of the fun projects they're doing. Your comments on said projects will become less and less creative with each new post you read.
  7. Summer vacation will always feel like it flew by.

  1. I wanna know more about this restaurant that you can only get to by boat! That sounds awesome!

Sorry about the flatulent dog. ;)

  2. Huh, I totally agree with them all - good life wisdom ;) Maybe you could a couple pics of the album if you blank out the actual photos? And your "gems" look like my gems from back in the day :)

  4. Flatulent dogs--BLECH. (I've got two of 'em, myself.) Sounds like a boat ride to a pub would give me the fresh air I need to escape said flatulence!!!

  5. If I were to scrapbook again my pages would probably still look like that. I'm not very good with the scrapbooking thing (which is partly why I stopped years ago).
Thanks for commenting on my blog. It always makes me feel good!

  6. Funny funny girl, as usual!! I'm glad you're finally back! That reminds me... I guess it's my turn to post something. It's only been a month (and a bit). Can't wait to see you tomorrow!

  7. Hee Hee - you crack me up!!
That's why we don't have a dog. The guinea pig is enough work for me. =D
Oh, & I totally relate about the wedding album as a gift. My brother and his wife have been married for over 2 years and I just gave them thiers this past summer. However, I still have some pages to do. They will have to fit them in as best they can when I get my house back.
Glad to hear it's been a good summer for you!!

  10. Have you started back yet? Summer flew by here too! I know what you mean about styles evolving over time. That's my excuse for not scrapbooking my wedding pictures yet.

If you type something below it will make the sun shine and the flowers bloom and all the world's children sing hand-in-hand. If you don't, someone, somewhere, will kick a puppy. You don't want to have that on your conscience, now do you?
